Global Economic Impact Group, LLC (GEIG), collaboratively with California Department of Parks and Recreation, and the African American Network of Kern County, is proud to announce its reclamation and revitalization of a national treasure, Lt. Colonel Allensworth State Historical Park. Allensworth is the only town in California that was exclusively established and independently sustained by African Americans. GEIG has an exciting new plan to restore the prominence to Allensworth Historical State Park as the jewel of the San Joaquin Valley and as a fascinating tourist destination for people and families from all walks of life.

GEIG will hold a press conference on August 25th at 9:00 am on the park grounds (4099 Ave. 39 or Star Route 1 Box 148, Earlimart, CA) in an effort to make Allensworth, again, a source of pride and esteem, not only for the African American community, but for all Californians and the nation as a whole, as Lt. Colonel Allensworth State Historical Park is set to become one of this nation’s most valued Historical Destinations.

GEIG will continue the vision of the late Lt. Colonel Allensworth, a former slave, entrepreneur, ordained minister, and Chaplin for the Buffalo Soldier who, along with four other African American families, founded the town of Allensworth, CA in 1908. Although most Americans have recently been introduced to the town of Greenwood, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as the “Black Wall Street”, GEIG’s goal is to also bring recognition and attention to Lt. Colonel Allensworth State Historical Park as the site of one of the most historically monumental African American communities located right in the heart of California.

During these tumultuous times of civic unrest and racially motivated disturbances, as well as the uncertainties and trepidations caused by the recent pandemic, GEIG is inviting the press out to witness something truly uplifting and positive happening in our community. If interested in attending along with other invited guest such as Governor, Gavin Newsom, State Senators, Melissa Hurtado and Steven Bradford, Assemblymen, Rudy Salas and Joaquin Arambula, Congressmen, David Valadao and Jim Costa, and the famed Buffalo Soldiers, please meet at the park at the above time and date. We are excited to share our plans with you and hope to see you there.
